By using advancements in polymer technologies and organic composites, the goal was to create a sheet good, with similar acoustical properties of lead but made with non-toxic, recycled materials that met our initial concept criteria. Compounds were studied, tests were conducted, and Acoustiblok was born. Several changes were made to old formulas that proved to give us distinct advantages compared to existing generic, run of the mill, barrier materials. Acoustiblok's unique formula has an increase of internal damping, (due to its flexibility) and is classified for over 400 U.L. (underwriters Laboratories) construction assemblies resulting from our proprietary formula.
